Vast array of comfort foods. Good service. Jersey diner. I went with My Daddy and he ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which he enjoyed very much. I ordered the fried chicken basket and it comes with a half of fried chicken and a generous amount of fries. I LOVED the chicken! It was hot from the fryer and golden brown and the fries were fresh cut and seasoned so you didn't need ketchup or salt. The only bad thing about the experience was my iced coffee. Before I put cream and sugar in it, it looked weak and when I put the cream and sugar in, it still was weak tasting. I have eaten here before and STRONGLY recommend their pancakes. ESPECIALLY their Coconut Pancakes! Try the corned beef hash with them. Hopefully the next time that I order iced coffee here it will be darker. As I said before I have eaten here and in the summer months ordered iced coffee. If you're in the Jersey City area come to The Brownstone Diner! You WON'T be disappointed!

Do not! I repeat! Do not! Come on any holidays. It is super crowded. Messy. Long wait time. Just a hot mess. Everyone is angry. The food is good. And the cooks are on point and on time. It's everyone else who delays everything.

Excellent place to eat. It had a great variety of gluten-free pancakes. The food was often American food. The staff was always pleasant, and the food was excellent. I've liked everything. Highly recommend!!!

Subsequent to my review the diner changed its hours. They close at 5pm Monday through Thursday. They are still open late on other days. The Brownstone is the best diner in Jersey City. The owner often works 7 days a week to assure your dining pleasure and the staff is top notched. This place is great for breakfast, lunch and diner. There is a large selection to choose from and so far my meals have all been good. The wait staff is polite and efficient. I recommend this highly.

I started going there when I was in high school (1985). Loved the breakfast. I live in a different state now but every time I come to NJ It's a must stop in for me.. LOVE this place!! Great food!
